As a former Nationally ranked swimmer, Sean has been involved with sport and performance from an early age. Becoming qualified as a Fitness Instructor in 2005 and then a Personal Trainer in 2007, Sean has over 11 years of experience in the industry.
In this time he has worked in a multitude of settings from gyms, freelance PT, sports teams, strength and conditioning, boot camps, studio classes, weight management and childhood obesity programs.
Steve originally trained as a Design Engineer before changing careers to become a Personal Trainer in 2004. His engineering background lead to him developing an interest in the bio-mechanics of movement and how poor movement patterns can contribute to pain and impact upon sports performance. Over the last 13 years Steve has worked with numerous high level athletes and sports teams and has pioneered many techniques (such using foam rollers) that we now find commonplace throughout the fitness industry.
Outside of United Fitness Academy, Steve works a Chartered Physiotherapist running a successful busy practice in Colchester. He is still passionate about exercise and movement and uses both to specialise in rehabilitating complex cases which do not respond to conventional treatment.
